We were in the throes of producing these decals when Peter Kilduff’s book was published, earlier this year – thankfully, the photographs it contained saved us from some major conjectural mistakes and allowed us to make this the most accurate and complete modeller’s colour and marking reference yet produced for Jasta 40. Thank you, Peter! Thanks should also go to Achim Sommer of Germany for his timely intervention.
As usual, I also wish to record my thanks to Ray Horwell of Fantasy Printshop for his customary printing excellence. This decal set has not been without its ‘challenges’ for both of us! If anyone was in any doubt as to Ray’s printing wizardry – examine the hilt of Hertel’s dagger under a glass!
